I decided to write a book after the birth of my fourth child because honestly, I didn’t know what to do with myself. I had worked so hard towards my VBA3C. It seemed weird, even with four kids to not have something to work on and prepare, besides normal life. My heart was overwhelmed with God’s goodness and love for me and I knew I wanted to share more of not just my story, but I really believe this is all about Him.

Birth Trauma and Layers

Birth trauma – It’s like an onion. There are layers.

The top layer is easy – no tool required. Just peel it back. Acknowledge things didn’t go well with your birth.

The second layer you can’t just use your fingers. It’s harder to get to. You must do something to break into it. The odor can cause your eyes to tear up. It requires you to be still and look at the issues you had previously, it takes some time and devotion.
But in order for healing to occur, the best thing we can do is to face these things.

If we ignore it I promise it will negatively impact you. Through the pain, through using the eyes of your heart to see the issues, and keep going back to it until you are free, it’s worth the pain and effort.

You can find freedom. You can feel freedom. On the other side of pain is healing.

Take your time. One layer at a time. Allow the pain to come. Allow yourself to process it. And also, allow yourself to forgive. Forgive others. Forgive yourself. Holding onto bitterness never hurts that other person, only the person who keeps it within their hearts.

Do you need more help with this? Let me know. I’ll post more in the future.

As for now, know you’re loved. Know what happened isn’t ok. But know it’s ok to go back and work through it.
